Faculty of Letters & Human Sciences

Dean's Message

For years, societies believed sciences and technologies to be synonym for a modern and developed era. They gave this field a lot of importance and interest rendering it highly attractive to students around the world. Human Sciences became old, decaying specialties; until identities started withering and getting lost with the surfacing of extremism. The world then realized that Human Sciences were necessary to reconnect with one’s identity on all levels of life.

In this context, the Faculty seeks to enhance the students’ understanding of issues related to their society and country, in addition to their beliefs in “real” democracy, justice and equal opportunities.

It strives, on one hand, to shape the students into good citizens, strengthening their sense of a common and participatory citizenship in its humanitarian and cultural dimensions; and on the other, to commit to democratic practices and to the culture of Human Rights, as well as to promote the values of social cohesion.

The Faculty also provides a variety of specialties in Human Sciences, Translation, and Languages in addition to Arabic and Foreign literatures, based on the market’s needs.

Through collaborations with foreign universities, the Faculty offers the students opportunities for scholarships to pursue a part of their studies abroad. Hence, it gives them the chance to explore the world and improve their multicultural and multilingual skills.

The Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences aims at accomplishing its mission and adopting the goals set in its system, through the efforts of its experienced and highly qualified team of instructors. It contributes to the prosperity of our society, and constitutes the link between the different specialties in the university; since it combines the different sections of sciences and humanities: cultural interaction, technological & scientific revolution of our era, and acceptance of other ways of thinking.

The Faculty works on developing new methods to learn foreign languages, and master them, since it is considered a tool to follow up with the progress in the field of academic research and to open up to different human cultures, by adapting to the technological means of communication in order to transfer the information in the best way possible.
