Faculty of Public Health

Dean's Message

The Faculty of Public Health, Islamic University of Lebanon, is the first faculty within the Lebanese private universities system dedicated to teach in both languages, English and French. The Faculty of Health Sciences received its current name when the Faculty of Public Health and other departments, Nutrition, Midwife, Medical Laboratory, Speech and Physical Therapy, were merged in 2017 under the Presidential Decree No. 1112. Historically, The Faculty of Public Health was established in October 2001 as part of the University Institute of Applied Technology with two departments: the Department of Computer Science and the Department of Nursing under the Presidential Decree No. 8600.  In 2007, the Department of Nursing was dissociated from the University Institute of Applied Technology, and the Faculty of Nursing Sciences was founded under the Presidential Decree No. 673.

Our faculty is a Lebanese leader in health sciences in education, training, and number of graduate students. We attract the best and brightest minds to the faculty because our policy is to get the best to give the best to our students. Our professors, instructors and trainees are focused on solving some of the biggest problems we face in health in Lebanon. Because our health and social care sectors are now confronting some critical challenges including the presence of the poorest health individuals, such as those living in rural and remote areas, people of refugees, people who are socially and financially disadvantaged, and people with disabilities.

The challenge is to deliver the best possible graduate health professionals (outstanding clinicians, leaders in health, international perspective), by giving rigorous courses.

The challenge is to have graduates who are preferentially employed and are ready for the new health era.

The challenge is to open a diversity of departments in different areas of Lebanon, Khalde, Tyr and Baalbeck.

We all have dreams and we all struggle to realize these dreams, but in our faculty we all confronting challenges and we all stepped over them.

To everyone who wants to step over, I welcome you to the faculty to contribute to my vision.
