SDG 11.2.3: Public access to buildings and/or monuments and/or natural heritage landscapes that are of cultural significance

Islamic University of Lebanon in search of providing access to museums, seeks that its students can take tours, for this reason, within the training program organized by the Tourism Guidance and Guidance Department, students of the College of Tourism Sciences toured the archaeological and touristic landmarks of Beirut, accompanied by Dr. Nafez Al-Ahmar and Professor Reem Qamar. The tour included a visit to the Beirut National Museum and the historical landmarks of Downtown Beirut.

Graduate projects of the IUL have been granted the first awards in the exhibition of industrial researches organized by the Association of Lebanese Industrialists with the annual participation of some Lebanese universities and other research institutions. The IUL also received in 2004 the prize of the best-distinguished university institution in the exhibition of “Lebanese Industrial Research Achievements” (LIRA).

IUL is concerned by the conservation of natural and building heritage. It organizes visits to the sites considered as a cultural or natural heritage in order to raise students’ awareness in this domain.

Moreover, the faculty of tourism at IUL schedules visits to sites considered as a cultural or natural heritage in order to train students on the methods used to conserve this heritage and the concept of ecotourism and sustainable methods in tourism.
