The French Embassy in Beirut launched the FORSA program and the SAFAR program to allocate scholarships for students wishing to pursue postgraduate studies Master 2 (one-year duration) and to register a doctoral thesis (3 years duration) in France within the framework of strengthening the university partnership between Lebanon and France, and providing the opportunity to obtain French degrees. (Co-direction) in specialized academic fields.
The Department of Graduate Studies at the Faculty of Law has worked to present files for some students in the master’s and doctoral stages, and the student Muhammad Sarhan and the student Maha Al-Hajj managed to pass the required match and proved their competence through the distinguished level and obtained two scholarships, where the student Sarhan will continue preparing his doctoral thesis in private law and the student Hajj The second phase of the M2 Master in Public Law will be pursued jointly by the University of Montpelier and the Islamic University of Lebanon.
Prof. Dina Al-Mawla, President of the University and Dean of the College of Law, praised the efforts made by the Head of the Graduate Studies Department, Dr. Abbas Jaber, the External Relations Department, and the Coordinator of European Affairs, Mrs. Sylvie Devigne, and praised the academic level the college has reached.
Under the SAFAR programme, the French Embassy in Lebanon and the Islamic University of Lebanon have signed a framework agreement for mobility support.
The Structuration of Research is for IUL researchers and faculty. It allows mobility in 2020 from 2 weeks to 1 months in France, with the aim of structured research or activating a bilateral research project.

This morning at the Army Command – Yarzeh, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Lebanese Army and the Islamic University in Lebanon (IUL), including facilities for the military and their families. The agreement was signed by the Armed Forces Commander General Joseph Aoun on the side of the military establishment, and for the university its president, Professor Dina Al-Mawla, in the presence of a number of officers and a delegation from the university administration.
Mrs. Al-Mawla pointed out that this agreement is more than a contract between two parties, but rather an embodiment of a solid relationship within the framework of a common message between the Islamic University and the army, stressing that strength and knowledge are two methods that go hand in hand to protect the homeland.
For his part, General Aoun thanked the university administration for this initiative, stressing the importance of the officer or military following his education, as this has a positive impact on his productivity and the productivity of the military institution.
The Director General of Public Security, Major General Abbas Ibrahim, and the President of the Islamic University of Lebanon, Dr. Dina Al-Mawla, signed an academic cooperation agreement that enables officers and military personnel wishing to pursue their studies to obtain a master’s degree .
First edition of the regional mediation competition
Organized by the Middle East Regional Directorate of AUF and the Professional Mediation Center (CPM) of Saint Joseph University (Beirut, Lebanon), the CPM’s regional mediation competition aims to allow students to discover mediation by playing the role of parties in conflict. The latter will be introduced to communication, negotiation and listening techniques in order to find an amicable solution to the dispute. It will be held in Beirut from March 30 to April 3, 2020.
Universities wishing to form one or more team (s) and participate in the competition must complete the “Registration form” and return it with the CV of each participant and a letter of motivation in the name of the team not exceeding 200 words, by email to AUF at the following email address [email protected] before November 15, 2019 .
