The ceremony began with verses from the Holy Quran by student Qassem Mohsen, then the national anthem, and the ceremony was presented by Dr. Viola Makhzoom, then Dr. Qabbani spoke and expressed his happiness for his presence on the campus of the Islamic University, and said: “From here, from this civilized edifice, nation-building begins. Not only but also opens the doors of the whole world. This university has great merit among the many universities in Lebanon that build future generations and revive the country.” In Khaldeh, which has been transformed today thanks to the benefactors, thanks to those who believe in science and thanks to His Eminence the Galilee Sheikh, the sheikh of moderation and patriotism in Lebanon, Sheikh Abdul Amir Qabalan.
Qabbani affirmed that the Qur’an is a link between faith and science, for faith and knowledge are the basis for building generations and nations, and for progress and elevation in life. Science coupled with faith, faith without knowledge does not lead to the desired end, and knowledge without faith leads to chaos, chaos, collapse, and the destruction of all human values, as we notice today what is happening in the world, especially among those who have reached the peak in knowledge, but their moral decadence and the decadence of values descended into the abyss. This structure, i.e. the science associated and dependent on the building, is what leads us to the best life and to transcendence and sublimity. God Almighty says, “Only those who worship God fear the scholars.” The scholars are those who fear God because they delve into science and walk through their knowledge to discover the truth and greatness of this. Universe”.
And social welfare institutions – the Islamic Orphanage strongly believe that persons with disabilities are considered a huge human energy that should be taken care of as they are an integral part of society and their circumstances should not prevent them from struggling in life and in order to reach social development and to achieve their selves, ambitions and future. Which falls within the scope of the human capacity development sector by introducing the segments of society to the specialized services provided by social welfare institutions in the field of persons with disabilities, and since the institutions are the initiative and the forerunner in humanitarian work and securing the rights of citizens in all aspects of life, the institutions have started a policy of full integration since the year 1984 was the first in this field, then the achievements continued over the years. The year 2000 was the opening of the university integration program carried out by the institutions. In the same year, the first batch was registered in the official institutes. In the year 2004, the registration of children in private institutes began, and the process of graduating these children from private institutes and from private and official schools began. In the year 2006, the postgraduate studies service was opened for university students, and in 2007 the total deaf people were enrolled in institutes and most universities.
And he added… The integration and support program worked to achieve a set of goals and aspirations, the most prominent of which is caring for those we support to move on the path of science, supervising them and meeting their requirements. And here are the social welfare institutions, that voluntary national system, continuing their educational path to contribute to the advancement of society by presenting active and interactive people with their societies. This is our culture and these are our goals, and our principles are to take care of people with disabilities. and knowledge to open their hands to our children, inclusive centers that believed in our mission and our children and extended a helping hand to them, and universities such as the Islamic University, which had the initiative and opened its doors to contribute to the advancement of the capabilities of persons with disabilities and cooperated fully with us in all fields in order to build the future of our children and the disabled, and did not spare them anything. of things.
He pointed out that this ceremony today confirms this solid and benevolent will of the leaders and officials in this university to tell everyone that we are with people with disabilities in order to advance them, educate them, support them and stand by them to achieve their lives and build their future. Just as the social welfare institutions were the destination of everyone in need in their services across the country, so were the inclusive universities, foremost of which is the Islamic University of Lebanon, which opened its doors and provided material and moral support to our children in social welfare institutions with visual and hearing disabilities. And here we are today, following the path of goodness and for them to raise the banner of the disabled high, raising the slogan, “Inclusion is one of my rights.” Therefore, I add and say in the name of these loved ones.
experiences for people with disabilities
Then the students, Rana Zain Al-Din, Hassan Shukr, and Ruba Ali from people with disabilities presented their live experiences that they had gone through and proved their success in it.
Mrs. Amal Ibrahim, the official of the Al-Ma’een Club for People with Disabilities, presented her experience, then a documentary film was shown about the Human Capabilities Development Complex in Aramoun, which is affiliated with the Social Welfare Institutions.
Lord
Finally, there was a speech by Dr. Al-Mawla, in which she said: It is not surprising that two institutions working in the social, pastoral and academic fields meet about the right of the disabled to integrate. Inclusion refers to achieving equality, participation and opportunities for people with special needs, just like others in society, and removing any manifestation of discrimination by giving them opportunities and equal rights and making the conditions surrounding them normal. Inclusion is also intended to provide various types of services and care for people with special needs in the environment of ordinary people. We are two institutions working in the service of the people of the country, committed to bearing responsibility towards their citizens. Perhaps in Lebanon we have not reached the efficiency of the public sector in the face of cases that loosen their weight as a result of crises, so the initiative came from the private and civil sectors, and we do not mean the private sector, which usually benefits from crises. To increase his wealth, what is meant is the civil initiatives undertaken by the private welfare societies through a purely humanitarian impulse equipped with sense, passion and tenderness, as well as responsibility, professionalism and morality, an attempt to heal the wounds and come up with solutions. Your institution performs great, varied and specialized services, and over the years it has spread in all Lebanese regions, relying on the offerings of benevolent people from civil society. Among the similarities is that our institution has also faithfully nurtured for many years, promising and superior youth who have been exhausted by poverty, deprivation and destitution, and the university will never accept any obstacle to their excellence and creativity.
She added… We are meeting today to demand the right of the disabled to social and educational integration, that is, integrated social mixing that requires continuous educational integration and planning. As for educational integration, it aims to enroll exceptional students with ordinary students in regular classes all the time, as these students receive joint educational programs This type of merger requires the availability of conditions and factors that help to make it successful. Including the acceptance of ordinary students and extraordinary students with the provision of procedures that work to make this direction a success. If in the past, assistance to the disabled was limited to mitigating the effects of the wars that ravaged this country, then we see it with our own eyes, and we work to deal with cases of sensory, motor or mental disabilities, as the social abuse that works to hide them out of shame is shameful, and the disabled is considered a burden on the parents, and this What made addressing this approach take a long time, which the West preceded us a lot, as confronting cases of disability did not reach the point of dealing with realism only in recent years. Therefore, inclusion encourages society to adopt a view towards persons with disabilities.
She saw Dr. The Lord that the real problem lies in how to work on integrating them into their societies. Effective educational integration and involvement in the special education system helps people with disabilities to face problems and challenges and takes into account their special conditions according to the type of disability. The integration of people with special needs into society is one of the advanced steps that are being considered It has various rehabilitation programmes. What is meant by the method of integration is to provide services and care in an environment far from isolation, but for integration there are scientific and educational rules and conditions that must be available before, during and after its application. The principle of integration has become an urgent educational issue in the field of special education. Yes, they deserve all the care and attention for integration, as they are an integral part of the whole society, and we do not differentiate between a healthy society and a disabled society.
I concluded by saying… It is our responsibility towards our children, as the right to integration is their sovereign right. I welcome you to the Islamic University in Lebanon, which is the incubator through the word of the university, values and ethics through the word of Islam, the nation and its children from the word of Lebanon, as we made the university’s motto “University”. For the whole country.” Through our culture and morals, I say that it is contrary to human values to stand idly by towards a humanitarian issue that is part of our society. We will not provide any effort to serve this humanitarian project, so we are working to help in the integration of cases of disabilities, and our project today is only evidence of integration and concerted efforts between community institutions to serve our children in the absence of a clear educational policy.
