SDG 17.2.1: IUL has direct involvement in, or input into, national government SDG policy development

The Islamic University of Lebanon is a member of the association of universities in Lebanon (Universities Association of Lebanon). Universities Association of Lebanon is involved in achieving sustainability goals.

The Council of the Universities Association of Lebanon met at the campus of the University of Sagesse, Furn al-Shabak, and was unanimously elected:

  • President of the Association of Universities of Lebanon: Professor Father Salim Dakkache, President of Saint Joseph University;
  • Vice President of the Association of Universities of Lebanon: Prof. Dina Al-Mawla, President of the Islamic University of Lebanon.
  • Secretary of the Association of Universities of Lebanon: Dr. Elie Karam, University of Balamand;
  • Treasurer of the Association of Universities of Lebanon: Prof. Dr. Rajaa Fakhoury, Beirut Arab University.

Accountant of the Association of Universities of Lebanon: Professor Noura Hanna, Antonine University.

The Universities Association of Lebanon (UAOLB) is the representative body for the leading public and private research universities in Lebanon.

Through consultation and collaborative projects, UAOLB develops strategies and policies to advance Scientific Research and Higher Education in Lebanon.

Its purpose is to ensure maximizing the Universities’ contribution to Lebanon’s social, cultural and economic well-being.
